I am sure those who have been reading my blog know that I love Narnia and everything that has to do with Narnia, so here I present to you one of the Narnia song that I love the most.

I am totally addicted to this song, “The Call” by Regina Spektor..This song is played at the end of the movie..

It sounds so good and the lyrics is excellent:

The first episode aired in Malaysia on 10th June 2008 at 9.30pm..The funniest part was that I was awaiting for Ugly Betty, instead I got Pushing Daisies..Somehow, I didn’t realised that Ugly Betty Season 2 has ended last week..I guess I have been very busy lately that caused me to forget things..

Anyway, so I watched Pushing Daisies, now having to recall the very first time I saw the advertisement..

The first episode has blown me to Heaven..I was so captured into the drama itself..I like the storyline..

1. You are a kid and you watched your dog being hit by a car and dead.

2. You touch the dog for one last time only to have given it another life.

3. You realised you have a gift.

4. You learnt another fact through the hard way, by killing your own mum.

5. No more skin contact with anyone else since then.

6. When you are an adult, you use the gift to ask the dead who killed them and claimed the reward.

7. When you realised your dream girl is dead, you touch her and then no more touch so she can live.

Now, isn’t that a fantastic story? Who would have thought of it? Definitely not me..

Will there be a happy life between Ned and Chuck? I am still thinking about it but there is a possibility they will live happily ever after..or not..

I shall be watching out for this series and hopefully I don’t miss any of the episodes..like I did with Ugly Betty..

The fun part however is to discover that there are only 9 episodes in Season 1..so little episodes..

The Phoenix by Beloved Dreamer

Oh, majestic bird
With broad jewel wings
Soar sweet bird, enigma

Born of heaven gift to man
Soar high skimming treetops
Shadow the evening red-orange sun

Fly jeweled bird flashing sparkling
Violet-green against the blue sky
Fly free, free just a little while

As earth and air pivot your binds free
Free free just a little while
Till time and heaven decree

Spin sparks flying in a spiral downward dance
To burn hot flames, blaze within the melted sun
burnt black ashes your only mark

Just a little while, a little while
When once more rising from black remains
Jeweled feathered wings spread wide

Free of earths nature your chains unbound
Soar high upon sweet angel wings, magical journey
High in the cool cool moon light mist

High and free echoing cries, pure joy
From ashes to bird of Eden
Fly high and free forever more

My Comments

One thing for sure about this poem is that it is very grand and majestic.

This poem describes how a Phoenix can be so strong and powerful. With words like ‘majestic bird’, ‘broad jewel wings’ and ’soar high’ or ‘fly high’ suggest that the bird is really magical and in a way that perhaps it can be a protector.

I like the beginning part. However, as I am more on the light side so this seems to ‘Shakespearean’ to me. Nevertheless this is a great poem, worth reading..
