Harry Potter, More Harry Potter and Cinderella?

with 2 comments

Alright, this is my special confession of my addiction since the past few weeks. First of all, of course I am so addicted to Harry Potter and so I read The Deadly Hallows and now I am reading the first four books. The reason why I love Harry Potter is so obvious. Harry Potter is the sensation of the world and naturally, seven years ago, when I was first introduced to Harry Potter books, I was immediately hooked on to it. The books are not cheap but for the sake of my addiction, I forked out a few hundreds just to buy them all.

“Love this”

Now, I am going to confess about another story that has been part of my life since I was nine years old.

Do you remember the story of Cinderella and how it always begin with,

“Once Upon A Time…”

Yes, I am addicted to Cinderella. My childhood fairy tale is coming back to haunt me and the result is I am addicted again to the fairy tale. So what can I do about it? I have already known the story so I just need to have something else to remind me about it and what’s better than a movie?

Actually, not just one movie but I have three movies in line waiting for me to watch and enjoy.

I will explain more detail about each movie because I simply love all of them…

1. Cinderella Cartoon Movie – originally released in 1950

I love this cartoon very much. It is the original Walt Disney animation that captures my heart.

My very first Cinderella book is based on this movie, everything is the same because there are pictures in it and after so many years, now only I can remember how I love the book so much.

2. Cinderella 1997 – featuring Whitney Houston and Brandy

Who doesn’t like a Cinderella movie and with a modern touch of Walt Disney comes Cinderella version 1997 starring Whitney Houston and Brandy. Sometimes, when I think about this movie, I often ask myself why there are so many Cinderella version and I guess we need to have faith in our dreams as in “a dream is a wish your heart makes”…

3. Ever After: A Cinderella Story (1998)

Now, this is by far the most romantic Cinderella movie. I love Drew Barrymore in this movie, she is such an excellent actress. I kind of miss her acting, seems like she is busy with something else now. Got to love the dresses in the movie because they are all so grand and princessy.

Drew Barrymore : Danielle De Barbarac

Douglas Scott : Prince Henry

A Cinderella Story in 2004 is another Cinderella themed movie with Hilary Duff and Chad Michael Murray being portrayed as the modern day ‘Cinderella’ and ‘Prince Charming’.

Not to say I hate A Cinderella Story (2004) but I prefer the above mentioned three Cinderella movies more.
