More Freelancing Sites Up & Going

with 2 comments

I noticed that there are many freelancing sites being established and there is one known as I Can Freelance. The founder (I guess) left a message here explaining how the whole thing works. I am not going to publish here the details of the site because I am still new at the site and the site is still progressing so I better wait for a while before I judge the site.

However, the more the merrier. Let’s get the freelance party started then!

Update 17/07/09: I have a freelance writing blog. Writing Consultation.

with 2 comments

This is going to be the last part of the series and I am going to be quick about this as I am currently engage in another project.

Part 3 – Scriptlance

scriptlance.com

This is just as easy as the other sites. However, the layout is not so appealing but the projects featured are nothing less than interesting..

Features:

  • You register as a member for free
  • You have unlimited bids on projects
  • Once you have successfully completed a project a 5% or $5.00 fee will be deducted from your bidding amount (whichever is higher).
  • You get can paid directly without going through Scriptlance but you will still have to have money in the account for the commision.

Overall, this is good to expand your network of clients.

Rating: 8/10

Update 17/07/09: Scriptlance is still ok to use.

Top 3 Sites For Freelancing – Part 2

without comments

This is the 2nd part of the Top 3 sites for freelancing series. Today, I am going to talk about Elance.com, another great site to bid for projects. I am still exploring this site and I tell you, I am learning more when I wrote this post. I did more research than I ever did the first time I sign up for Elance.

Below is my review of Elance:

Part 2 – Elance

Elance has more features than GAF and I like the layout of the whole site. It is easy to navigate and not confusing at all. GAF is simple. Elance is PRO. Elance has everything you need from lessons to forum and blog, to keep you updated and learn more each day as you progress with Elance.

Features:

  • You register as a member for free.
  • Basic member (free) can submit a maximum 3 proposals (known as Connects, and in some cases you need to use more than one Connect to submit one proposal).
  • You can upgrade at $9.95/month to submit up to 20 proposals a month and more features. Click here to see more.
  • Elance will charge 4-6% out of the earnings of a project plus 2.75% payment processing fee.
  • There is a forum where providers and buyers can exchange views and opinions – it is known as Elance Talk. Click here for more.
  • Elance has a blog for the latest news and issues happening at Elance.
  • Elance University offers you all the lessons you need as a newbie.

Rating: 9.5/10

Tomorrow : Scriptlance (the last part so don’t miss out)

Update 17/07/09: Elance is still doing great.

Top 3 Sites for Freelancing – Part 1

with 2 comments

I have become a freelancer so looking out for the right freelancing sites can be daunting as there are so many freelancing sites available. The truth is only a few sites are worthy to join as a member and bid for projects as the others have a higher risk of getting conned. Starting from today, I am going to reveal 3 top sites I would recommend for freelancers.

I am going to list the top 3 sites that I find offer the best services for freelancers, one at each day.

Part 1 – Get A Freelancer (GAF)

GetAFreelancer.com

Features:

  • You register as a member for free. If you would like to upgrade to being a Gold Member, you need to pay $12/month.
  • Once you have successfully bid on a project, GAF will take either 10% of the earnings or $5.00 whichever is higher.
  • A regular member can place a maximum 16 bids in one month and more bids for Gold Member.

Payments – you can receive, send and withdraw money by:

  • PayPal
  • Credit Card via Moneybookers
  • E-Gold
  • Wire
  • Check
  • GAF Debit Card (withdrawal only)

Rating : 9/10 (update: my new rating is 5/10 – why? because it is 50% good and 50% sucks)

Coming Up Tomorrow : Elance
